KAMPOT, Cambodia 🇰🇭

Sunset Tour

Kampot, Cambodia is a riverside town in the southeast with laid-back vibes. Dubbed the durian capital the town is pretty popular with retirees from the West. The population is roughly 40,000. Tourists also go through here on their way to Can Tho / Vietnam.

The riverside, where we start our tour can feel touristy at times. Local tourists enjoy river cruises here. the “old bridge” stands out — a mishmash of styles from various eras. It’s a testament to resilience after damage in the Khmer Rouge days. However, its patchy look might not appeal to everyone. Along the riverside there cafes and shops but we’ll quickly get to the center of the town.

We see the market and even get to the “durian roundabout” with a huge durian statue.

In essence, Kampot has some natural beauty, a hint of colonial past, and a bit of commercial tourism. Pop into this video for a walk through Kampot’s lanes. We see more than the landmarks - we experience the town’s true, unfiltered rhythm.
