Walking in ANTWERP / Belgium 🇧🇪

Chinatown and City Center (2019)

Antwerp (Dutch: Antwerpen) is the second largest city in Belgium (after Brussels). In the 16th century Antwerp was a financial and trade center. The city has some beautiful historical buildings as we saw on previous tours here on POPtravel: https://youtu.be/1ls0muksZBQ and https://youtu.be/rg2ydsx1ML0

We start this tour at the Antwerp train station. Instead of walking straight to the center we first check out Chinatown nearby for a good 10 minutes which is a less touristy area compared to what we see on our other walks.

After our round near the train station we go to the city center with the Meir shopping street. We also explore the less busy northern part before we return to some sights like the Saint Charles Borromeo Church.

From there we can see more smaller streets with restaurants and shops in the city center. We end our tour at the Grote Markt with Brabo’s Monument.
