SAIGON, Vietnam 🇻🇳

Ho Chi Minh City / Vietnam , commonly known as Saigon is the largest city of the country. Saigon was the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). Today Saigon has a population of around 9 million (2019).

We start our walk of HCMC in the District 1 where most tourists stay. The Bui Vien walking street is open for motored vehicles during the day. We walk most of Bui Vien which comes to live mostly during nighttime with clubs and bars.

As we exit north we head to the Huyen Si Church - Cho Dui Parish. As a mass is going on there we soon get to some sights eastwards.

We check out the Ben Thanh Market and are soon in downtown Saigon. We see the People’s Committee Building with the statue of Ho Chi Minh in front and the Opera House nearby. Our round continues via the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon which was under construction.

As the sunset is under way we head back to our starting point. We see the Independence Palace from a distance. Passing the Saigon Centre Shopping Mall we soon are back at Bui Vien, now with more lights on. After 100 minutes our walking tour finishes.
