Walking around Christmas Lights in PORTO & COIMBRA / Portugal 🇵🇹

For Christmas time this evening we walk around the Portuguese city of Porto and Coimbra.

Porto in northwest Portugal is known for its port wine and is the second largest city of the country after Lisbon. Coimbra is Portugals former capital and also has a nicely preserved old town.

We start the first evening tour in Porto and walk towards the town hall (Câmara Municipal do Porto) with a large christmas tree and lights. From there we head up north to the church Igreja da Santíssima Trindade and again downhill towards the old town and Douro River. Another section with lights is the Rua de Fernandes Tomás with the Chapel Almas de Santa Catarina where we soon end this walk.

In Coimbra our tour starts near the Mondego River South of the city centre. It’s late already. There are few people left on the streets. We see the Rua Ferreira Borges walking street with nearby churches Igreja de São Tiago and Igreja de Santa Cruz. The lights decorations in the the small streets in the old town.

Some walks during daytime of both cities Porto and Coimbra will be posted sometime soon.

Happy holidays!
