Walking in BRASOV / Romania 🇷🇴

Brașov / Romania is the 7th largest city in Romania with one of the most beautiful centers and a population of around 280.000. Brasov is also known as Kronstadt in German or Brassó in Hungarian. Surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains, Brasov is around 176km away from Bucharest - located pretty central in Romania’S Transylvania region. Many tourists visit to see the mountain scenery and old town with medieval Saxon/German influences.

We start our walking tour at the Piata Sfatului, Council Square. From this main square we visit the city center with attractions like Black Church (Biserica Neagra). Our tour follows along Brasov’s historic streets. One of these streets is the one of the narrowest in Europe: The “String Street” or “Rope Street” (Strada Sforii) was built for firefighters to quickly access locations. The is 80 metres (260 ft) long street is 1.35m (53 inches) at its widest point and just 1.11m (44 inches) at its most narrow point.

On our tour we see much more of the center before we head to the hills. There we end our tour with a view over Brasov from the Black Tower (Turnul Negru) - a medieval watchtower offering panoramic views.
