Walking in DRESDEN / Germany 🇩🇪

Central City Tour during Summer (2019)

Dresden / Germany is one of the main tourist destinations in Germany. As the capital of the state of Saxony it has several historical attractions that we visit on several walks here on the channel: https://youtu.be/ZpexSIXl4bE and https://youtu.be/2-61TAIaHgo

We start our tour at the Dresden Central Station (in August 2019) and exit again towards the Wiener Platz and Prager Straße. We head towards the Old Town with the Zwinger.

It’s rather windy on this late summer day. The breeze is nice for a comfortable temperature to continue further into the Old Town with the Semperoper and Dresden Castle.

We see the Fürstenzug (the Procession of Princes mural) and check the historical buildings there on our way up to the Brühl’s Terrace. There we have a nice view of the Elbe river.

The area has many museums so we walk around a bit on our way to the Neumarkt and the famous Frauenkirche. As one of the main sights this church was destroyed during the bombing of Dresden and rebuilt from 1994 with private donations to be reopened in 2005.

We have seen many sights and head back to the Central Station via the busy Prager Straße pedestrian street.
