Walking in TOLEDO / Spain ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ

Rainy winter tour

Toledo is an ancient city near Madrid. The walled old city is a tourist attraction as it is easy to reach by bus on a day trip from the Spanish capital.

We start our afternoon tour in the lower part near the ruins of the Convento do San Pablo. Using the long escalators there we get up to the old town from where we have a nice view.

Our walk on this rainy afternoon covers some main sites like the Puerta del Sol and main square though mostly the streets. Those narrow streets give a good impression of the old city layout and architecture while the rainy weather kept most tourists away today. We also see the Alcรกzar de Toledo - the royal palace - though from the outside with yet another nice view over the plains of Castilla-La Mancha.

The rain gets a bit heavier so a few parts of the city have to wait for another visit. We return to the viewpoint “Mirador de La Granja” near the escalators.

I’ll see when a summer walk in this part works out. Toledo was a nice and easy trip from Madrid.
